Santa Needs You! Help Keep Rugby's Christmas Sleigh on the Road

Have you got a vehicle with a towbar and a few hours to spare this December? You could help bring the magic of Christmas to families across Rugby!

Every December, Rugby Rokeby Lions Club takes Santa and his sleigh out into our local community, spreading festive cheer, bringing smiles to children's faces and helping raise much-needed funds for local charities and good causes.

For many families, seeing Santa travelling through their neighbourhood or visiting their local supermarket has become a much-loved Christmas tradition.

But making all this happen takes a dedicated team of volunteers — and this year, Santa needs a little extra help!

We're Looking for Volunteer Drivers

We're appealing to local residents who have a vehicle fitted with a towbar and would be willing to volunteer some of their time during December.

There are two ways you could help.

Weekday Evenings — Bringing Santa to Your Street

During December, Santa and his Lions helpers travel around planned routes through Rugby's neighbourhoods, bringing Christmas excitement directly to local families.

We're looking for drivers who can tow the sleigh along these pre-planned routes.

Each route typically takes between 2 and 3 hours, and you'll be helping our team make Christmas a little more magical for everyone who comes out to see Santa.

Weekends — Helping Santa Visit Local Supermarkets

At weekends, Santa and his sleigh visit fixed locations, mainly Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's supermarkets around Rugby.

For these visits, we're looking for volunteers who can help tow the sleigh to the location and collect it again afterwards.

If you can't spare an entire evening, this could be a great way to lend a hand.

Even a Few Hours Can Make a Difference

We understand that December is a busy time of year, and we're certainly not expecting anyone to commit to the whole month.

Whether you could help on just one evening, one weekend or several occasions, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You don't need to be a member of Lions to volunteer.

By giving just a little of your time, you'll be helping us continue a wonderful local Christmas tradition while supporting the charitable work that Rugby Rokeby Lions carries out throughout the year.

Could You Help? We'd Love to Hear From You!
